Andile “Navigator” Nodada is a Cape Town-based filmmaker, director, and activist using media to amplify unheard voices and drive social change. As co-founder of Inqwelo Cinema, he has created a pipeline for young creatives in underserved communities to gain skills, tell their stories, and turn art into enterprise.

Andile began his career in the arts in 2004, first as a church actor and later as a film student under the IQhilimba Arts Movement. Since then, he’s held technical and creative roles across the media spectrum — from assistant directing for Mzansi Magic’s “KUMNYAMA”, to producing educational content and music videos featured on Channel O, to operating cameras for Cape Town TV (CTV) and live DStv sports broadcasts.

In 2023, his feature film UMONA – The Aftermath won Best Longer-Length Film at the Student World Impact Film Festival (SWIFF), selected from over 13,000 global submissions. His projects tackle hard-hitting topics like gender-based violence, mental health, and LGBTQ+ rights, with works like 2Broken and My Father, My Responsibility drawing national praise.

At CTV, Andile now serves as News Technical Manager, covering high-stakes national events — from GBV protests and pesticide marches to Fees Must Fall updates and social justice assemblies. He was recently nominated for:

• Best Content Creator – Mzansi Arts & Media Awards

• Best MediaPreneur – Founder of the Year Southern Africa 2025

From township stages to festival spotlights, Andile Nodada is redefining media as a tool for healing, truth, and transformation.
