Tasleem Sayed is a dynamic academic, researcher, and community leader based at North-West University, where she lectures in Social Work and champions educational transformation. With an impressive academic journey that includes five degrees—culminating in a PhD in Social Work—Tasleem embodies the principles of lifelong learning, resilience, and social impact.

Her work bridges the realms of academia and community, with a strong focus on mental health, resilience, and empowerment. As both an educator and mentor, Tasleem integrates digital storytelling, reflective learning, and interactive platforms such as Padlet to enhance critical thinking and emotional intelligence in her students. She is deeply committed to shaping the next generation of socially conscious leaders.

A prolific researcher, her work examines how individuals flourish through adversity, with current studies exploring resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her research contributes to sustainable strategies that support the well-being of professionals and communities alike.

Beyond her academic role, Tasleem serves as Chairperson of the Advisory Board for Community and Stakeholder Engagement, and as Faculty Guardian of the Health Sciences Student Chapter. She actively leads initiatives focused on disability support, student volunteerism, and interdisciplinary health interventions.

Tasleem’s work has been recognised in scholarly publications, media platforms, and advocacy networks, reflecting her commitment to education, leadership, and social change. She remains passionate about empowering youth, uplifting communities, and using knowledge as a force for good.
