Lihle Chipeya is a driven youth leader, environmental advocate, and passionate community servant from Durban. As President of the Interact Club at Glenwood High School and Head of the Durban Youth Council’s Social Development Committee, Lihle has led transformative initiatives rooted in empathy, sustainability, and empowerment.

Since 2021, Lihle has been at the forefront of multiple service projects: organising book drives, beach clean-ups, food donations, and care-home visits. Under his leadership, Glenwood’s Interact Club grew significantly, securing sponsorships and spearheading campaigns like Valentine’s Day fundraisers, Santa Shoebox collections, and the widely impactful Book Day Drive, which donated over 300 books to the Denis Hurley Centre.

As Head of the Eco Club, Lihle established a successful recycling program that generates funds for environmental education, winning his school multiple awards—including from the City Nature Challenge. He also organized Glenwood’s participation in conservation days, coastal clean-ups, and the Ifa Lethu Wildlife Tour, teaching students regenerative farming and sustainability.

Beyond school, Lihle serves with Community Chest Durban, advocating for early childhood development, and regularly volunteers with blood donation drives, Rise Against Hunger, and East Coast Radio’s Big Walk. He’s also a published writer on gender-based violence and actively challenges social norms through education.

Lihle’s humility, initiative, and servant leadership have earned him nominations for the Spar Superstars Berea Mail and coverage across multiple media platforms. Whether leading peers or cleaning beaches, he embodies youth-driven impact—and proves that purpose-driven action starts early and echoes widely.
