Nkosinathi Zakhlele Lamula is a hands-on community leader and youth development advocate from Daveyton, Gauteng. As the founder of Imbumba Youth Organisation, Nkosinathi is on a mission to support and uplift children and young people living in vulnerable communities—creating safe, empowering environments where learning, growth, and opportunity thrive.
Founded in 2022, Imbumba Youth Organisation focuses on children aged 6 to 14, offering academic support, extra classes, and access to sports, arts, and cultural activities. The organization is officially registered and recognized for its work in education and youth engagement. More than a tutoring program, Imbumba is a lifeline for children growing up amid rising unemployment, poverty, and crime.
Nkosinathi’s leadership has also led to food security and recycling projects that create economic opportunities for the broader community. Through these initiatives, he has not only improved local sustainability but also instilled a sense of purpose and participation in young people.
In 2023, Imbumba Youth Organisation won the NYDA Pitch Competition and was selected for the National Youth Service (NYS) Program, which resulted in the creation of 20 job opportunities in food security. Nkosinathi’s humble, action-first approach has gained respect and recognition across the region.
Described as “a man of few words but full of action,” Nkosinathi continues to lead with patience, purpose, and passion. His goal is clear: to raise a generation of resilient, educated, and empowered youth who will shape the future of South Africa.
