Nombulelo Noluthando Vilakazi is the co-founder of KVM Agri-Solution, a dynamic agricultural enterprise based in Phillip Farm, Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal. A passionate advocate for sustainable farming and rural upliftment, Nombulelo’s journey into agriculture was driven by a deep-rooted desire to make a tangible difference in her community.
With a strong foundation in both crop production and poultry farming, she has played a pivotal role in shaping KVM Agri-Solution’s vision: to combat food insecurity, promote sustainability, and empower local youth through entrepreneurship. The company cultivates a wide range of fresh produce—including tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, spinach, onions, and pumpkins—and supplies poultry products such as eggs and meat to the surrounding areas.
Under her leadership, the business has earned a reputation for quality, reliability, and community impact. More than 70% of residents in the area have established their own food gardens, inspired by the company’s sustainable gardening initiatives. Through educational outreach and youth programmes, Nombulelo is nurturing a new generation of agricultural entrepreneurs.
Her contributions have not gone unnoticed. KVM Agri-Solution was awarded “Inspiration Business of the Year” during the Newcastle Mall Campaign in August 2024. The business has also been nominated for multiple accolades, including the Agri-preneur of the Year at both the SHE Awards and the FOYA Awards (Under 30 category).
Nombulelo Vilakazi is not just cultivating crops—she is cultivating hope, leadership, and long-term change in South Africa’s agricultural landscape.
