Should Parliamentarians Be Allowed to Share Oversight Videos on Their Personal Social Media?

In a recent meeting of the South African Parliament’s oversight committee on sports, arts and culture, one member accused another of using oversight visits for “personal social media followings.” This followed after videos of committee work was posted online. Supporters say it enhances accountability and gives voters direct insight into government performance. Critics worry it could politicise oversight or be used for self-promotion.
