Simphiwe Arnold Khambule is a fearless civic leader and founder of Do It From Your Heart Foundation, a nonprofit transforming underdeveloped communities in the Vaal region through direct action, public pressure, and social upliftment. Since founding the organization in 2008, Simphiwe has led grassroots efforts to resolve deep infrastructure neglect, youth unemployment, and poverty—with zero political affiliation and unwavering consistency.
He first gained national attention when a protest he led against neglected road infrastructure in Evaton West—dubbed “The Mother of All Potholes”—went viral and forced municipal response. But Simphiwe’s work goes far beyond protest. Through his foundation, he’s facilitated:
• 10 transformer replacements in power-deprived areas, in partnership with Eskom
• Ongoing school feeding schemes (since 2008)
• The Clothe A Student initiative—recycling matric uniforms for underprivileged learners
• Annual charity days like Fend For A Boy Child and Fun Day, benefiting 100+ children
• The Vusi’Kasi Lam waste management project, launched after years of municipal neglect
• Learnership and job placement programs in partnership with Shoprite and other corporates
• The #AdaptAFamily Campaign, which mobilizes food, clothing, skills training, and job connections for vulnerable families
Simphiwe believes change is a team sport—empowering youth to lead cleanup campaigns, support vulnerable neighbours, and learn self-reliance. Through his activism, he proves you don’t need a title to lead—just heart, vision, and relentless commitment to your people.
