Tanya Calitz is a trailblazing attorney, constitutional scholar, and human rights advocate whose career spans South Africa’s highest courts, global institutions, and grassroots outreach. With eight years of legal experience and academic excellence, Tanya is one of the country’s brightest legal minds shaping progressive policy and social transformation.
A summa cum laude LLB graduate from the University of the Free State (UFS) and LLM Human Rights graduate from the University of Edinburgh, Tanya began her journey as a law clerk at the Constitutional Court under former Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke. Since then, she’s worked at top firms like Bowmans and Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, contributed to policy submissions before Parliament, and represented South Africa at UN working groups.
