President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived in the United States for a working visit, including talks with U.S. President Donald Trump. According to reports, the discussions will be focused on salvaging key trade agreements between South Africa and the U.S., as global trade dynamics shift and AGOA (African Growth and Opportunity Act) faces future uncertainty. The deteriorating diplomatic relationships between the two countries will be a key point of discussion as well.
Free SA believes South Africans deserve a say when our leaders engage in high-stakes international negotiations that may shape jobs, exports, and economic sovereignty. Should President Ramaphosa be pursuing deals with President Trump? Should our trade policy be more transparent? Should President Ramaphosa make concessions in order to gain USA favour?
