Emily Mathosa is one of South Africa’s most decorated young netball coaches — a powerhouse who is reshaping high-performance sport and unlocking opportunity for athletes across age, gender, and region. With over a decade of coaching experience, Emily has made history at both provincial and national levels, mentoring athletes from grassroots to international competition.

Currently serving as the Head Coach of South Africa’s U19 Netball Team, she led the squad to gold at the 2024 Region V Youth Games and a silver medal at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games (Fast 5 format). She has also coached the Limpopo Baobabs to gold in the 2023 Telkom Netball League B Division, securing promotion to the elite A Division.

Emily’s resume includes:

• Coach of the Year at the TUT Prestige Awards (2024 & 2021)

• Head Coach of the TUT Male Netball Team, gold medal winners at the 2024 USSA Championships

• Assistant Coach at the CUCSA Games, bringing home multiple gold medals

Her accolades extend beyond performance: she was named one of Inside Education Foundation’s Top 100 South African Shining Stars in both 2023 and 2025, and is a finalist in multiple national sport awards, including the Gauteng Sports Awards.

Armed with a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Management and currently pursuing a PGCE in Physical Education, Emily leads with vision, structure, and purpose.
